While major sportswear brands dominate retail shelves, a specialized company is carving out its own territory by focusing on what others often overlook: comprehensive customization for teams of all sizes. TRY N KEEP UP SPORTS has secured contracts to outfit three international flag football teams for the 2028 Olympics, marking a significant milestone for the company.
The company’s design team brings an unusual pedigree to the table—they’ve previously ghost-designed for Nike and New ERA. That behind-the-scenes experience now fuels their own operation, which serves everyone from NFL players to youth leagues. Their recent work includes partnering with the California Classic, a flag football event hosted by Beyond the Game Health, and featuring former 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia as a keynote speaker.
Building a Different Kind of Sports Retailer
This was the vision from Matthew Rivers. The company describes itself as “the customized version of Dick’s Sporting Goods,” aiming to be a one-stop destination for teams and organizations. Beyond traditional custom sports uniforms and apparel, they’ve developed what they call “customized locker rooms”—branded digital spaces where teams can browse and purchase everything they need in one place.
Their client roster spans professional athletes, healthcare organizations, charity events, and educational institutions. They work with world champion flag football teams, including the New Orleans Wolfpack and Show Me from Clermont, Florida, along with Miami’s Bigger than Family and California’s O.T.F. Family. High school programs like the South Dade Lady Buccaneers and the Palmetto Panthers also rely on their services. We are currently working with the top track program in the state of Florida, the “Westchase Cheetahs,” headed by the world-famous Jarrod Macklin.

Taking the Experience Beyond Digital
The company isn’t limiting itself to online sales. They’ve launched pop-up shops that appear everywhere from football fields to shopping malls, creating temporary retail experiences that let customers interact with products directly. These mobile operations complement their social media strategy, which includes live streams offering behind-the-scenes looks at their design process and interactive sessions with their team.
The approach addresses several persistent challenges in the customized team apparel industry: tight deadlines, quality consistency across orders, and the complex balance between personalization and efficiency. Sports teams often need uniforms delivered quickly, and a single mistake can damage relationships built over time.
Looking Ahead to Los Angeles
With the 2028 Olympics on the horizon, the company is developing a proprietary blended material specifically for the uniforms they’ll produce for international teams. Flag football will make its Olympic debut in Los Angeles, creating new opportunities for specialized providers.

The company also plans to expand partnerships with philanthropic organizations, building on its experience in outfitting charity events. Their focus remains on serving clients across the spectrum—from small recreational leagues to professional athletes—while maintaining the customization options that distinguish their sports apparel services from mass-market alternatives.
For an industry where differentiation can be difficult, TRY N KEEP UP SPORTS is betting that comprehensive service, design expertise, and flexible customization will set them apart as flag football gains prominence on the world stage.
