While athletic organizations pour billions into wearables, analytics platforms, and performance technology, the equipment and facilities athletes rely on every day are still managed the old-fashioned way: spreadsheets, email chains, and institutional memory—often discovered only when something breaks mid-season or budgets spiral unexpectedly.
Athletic directors, facilities managers, and gym operators are responsible for millions of dollars in physical assets, yet most have no modern system to track performance, compliance, or lifecycle risk.
ATHLETEQUIP has built what is effectively the first operating system for sports equipment and facilities management. Its newly launched platform, GamePlan IQ, brings enterprise-grade intelligence to athletic operations—replacing fragmented, reactive workflows with predictive planning and automation.
Through conversations with more than 100 athletic operations leaders, one reality became impossible to ignore: there is no true system of record for tracking the lifecycle of athletic equipment and facilities across universities, professional teams, gym chains, and sports venues. Critical decisions around replacement timing, warranties, compliance, and capital planning are still made without reliable data.

From Service to Software
ATHLETEQUIP didn’t begin as a software company. It started by doing the work—managing equipment procurement and facilities operations for organizations including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Wisconsin, F45, and EverybodyFights. Operating inside these complex, multi-stakeholder environments gave the company a front-row view into how athletic equipment is planned, purchased, deployed, and maintained over time.
As the business scaled, ATHLETEQUIP built a network of more than 50 partnerships with manufacturers, vendors, installers, and service providers. That supply-side access created rare visibility into pricing trends, equipment availability, warranty behavior, and real-world performance data—insight individual organizations struggle to access independently.
Through this work, a consistent gap became clear. While procurement decisions were well-supported, what happened after equipment was installed was far less structured. Asset performance, lifecycle tracking, compliance requirements, and long-term capital planning were still managed manually, forcing organizations to react to issues rather than anticipate them.
GamePlan IQ: The Golden Source for Asset Lifecycles
GamePlan IQ, now in testing with multiple sports organizations, delivers AI-powered equipment and infrastructure lifecycle intelligence—providing a single system of record for planning, tracking, and forecasting the full lifespan of physical equipment. The platform predicts end-of-life timelines, automates compliance and warranty oversight, and supports long-term capital planning across facilities and portfolios. Patent-pending and purpose-built for athletics, GamePlan IQ replaces the spreadsheets and disconnected tools that still dominate operations.
In the near term, ATHLETEQUIP is focused on establishing GamePlan IQ as the category standard for athletics and fitness equipment lifecycle management. Longer term, the vision extends beyond sports facilities. The company sees an opportunity to bring lifecycle intelligence across entire organizations—giving teams, operators, and ownership groups a single, trusted source for understanding what they own, where it is, and what comes next.
For gym owners, arena operators, and athletic directors managing millions in equipment and infrastructure, the value proposition is straightforward: one authoritative platform for lifecycle visibility, compliance confidence, and capital planning—without relying on spreadsheets, email chains, or institutional memory.
