Angela Douglas spent 11 years living overseas in Hong Kong, but it was her return to Toledo, Ohio that marked the beginning of something unexpected. Armed with tools she’d developed through her own experiences navigating life across continents, from her hometown to Europe and Asia, she founded Inspire by Example Enterprises with a singular focus: helping people to make their brain their best friend.
What started as personal evolution has grown into a practice that reaches clients internationally. Douglas guides individuals through what she calls “make your brain your best friend,” blending neuroscience-backed practices with emotional regulation techniques and values-based identity work. Her transformational coaching services target a specific group: people who know they’re capable of more but lack the tools and mental frameworks to get there.
A Viral Tool With Real-World Impact
Douglas developed what she calls the “357 Flip,” a cognitive reframing tool that’s gained traction on TikTok under the handle @theangeladawn. The method helps users shift from negative thought spirals into what she describes as “grounded clarity.” Through repetition, the technique aims to rewire neural pathways, strengthening belief patterns, reducing self-doubt and helping you to make your brain your best friend.
The tool has resonated widely enough that Douglas was invited to present it at the Women’s Empowerment Conference in Paris last May. She’s also facilitated workshops across Asia, Europe, and the United States for corporate teams, treatment centers, schools, and online programs. Her client list spans CEOs, companies seeking leadership development, and individuals navigating major life transitions.
Beyond Motivation: Building Sustainable Change
Douglas is careful to distinguish her work from motivational speaking. She describes her approach as “deeply embodied and experience-driven,” translating complex concepts into practical applications. Her mindset mastery programs incorporate RAS (Reticular Activating System) awareness, impulse control strategies, and boundary development alongside communication skills training.
Her clients include professionals seeking stronger executive presence, students building resilience, and individuals rebuilding identity and self-worth. She’s created annual calendars, workbooks, individual and group coaching programs, and developed signature talks like “Mindset Mastery: Make Your Brain Your Best Friend,” which integrates neuroscience with easy to use tools and interactive learning.
Looking Forward
Douglas has ambitious expansion plans. She’s working on a book titled “Brain Forest” and aims to host an immersive retreat in Bali in 2026. Her vision includes building a team of facilitators to scale her methods into schools and organizations globally, alongside developing digital courses and training programs for educators and leaders.
The goal isn’t just individual transformation. Douglas wants to create what she calls “a global movement centered on self-respect and self-mastery, making your brain your best friend.” Her personal development workshops and growing online presence suggest she’s building the infrastructure to support that vision, one cognitive reframe at a time.
For someone whose work centers on helping others find their purpose, Douglas seems to have found hers: proving that the tools for change don’t require a complete life overhaul, just a willingness to rewire the patterns that keep people stuck.
